For example, &#8220;uww.com&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>visitor :<br \/>\n<\/b>The user who is viewing\u00a0a website.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>isp : internet service provider<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Examples: charter, verizon, frontier, wi-fi<\/li>\n<li>The ISP gives you access to the internet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>dns : domain name server<br \/>\n<\/b>The dns takes the friendly domain name and finds it\u2019s ip address.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>ip : internet protocol<br \/>\n<\/b>A numerical equivalent to the domain name.<br \/>\nart556.com= <b>69.6.222.92\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><b>host : hosting server<br \/>\n<\/b>Holds the website contents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>ftp : file transfer protocol<br \/>\n<\/b>A standard network protocol used to transfer files to the host.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>ftp access information:<br \/>\n<\/b>ftp host:<br \/>\nusername:<br \/>\npassword:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><strong>ftp software: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>dreamweaver, filezilla, cyberduck and many others.<\/li>\n<li>You will work locally and ftp files to the host\u2014make them live.<\/li>\n<li>The local files mirror the remote files.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>exercise:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Connect to your remote storage<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Open Dreamweaver<\/li>\n<li>Go to SITE -&gt; NEW SITE<\/li>\n<li>Enter &#8220;Site Name: &#8221; and select\u00a0 a &#8220;Local Site Folder&#8221;. Your site will be built locally, and stored in this folder. Then you will ftp the files to the host.<\/li>\n<li>Select SERVERS<\/li>\n<li>Click the + to add a new ftp server<\/li>\n<li>Use the following graphic as a guideline. Enter your name in place of mine.<\/li>\n<li>Select TEST.
